Good early morning from Zionsville! The preliminary competition is "in the books".
Highlights of the activity packed day:
*Jess had an early morning talent rehearsal at the Performing Arts Center with the other contestants from her group.
*All of the princesses and pre-teen princess arrived today! You can only imagine trying to "keep track" of all of those little ones.
*Our Miss ISU princess's (Abigail and Brionna) were awesome! Both of the girls are from Terre Haute. Jessica really enjoys having them with her on stage. They made an appearance tonight and will also be a part of the Finals Night show.
*Tonight was talent competition for Jess. I know I am totally biased - but she "rocked it" on stage. We were so happy her long time dance teacher was there to watch her perform. She has been a great supporter of Jessica's and has been a tremendous help with prepping her for competition.
*Jess's "fans' traveled from all parts of the state (and even Illinois) to support her tonight and more will be there tomorrow. It was great to see her college friends, boyfriend and his family, past Miss ISU's, ISU staff, her family and of course our wonderful Board of Directors.
*Tomorrow is the final day of Miss Indiana Week. The contestants have a special breakfast with former Miss Indiana's and Miss America 2009 - Katie Stam Irk. Then it is off to downtown Zionsville for the parade!
*The parade route is on the main brick street - very picturesque location. Jess will be riding with her 2 princesses. Immediately following the parade there is an autograph signing event. Sycamore Sam is planning to make an appearance at both activities. Sam is always very popular. A special shout out to Tommy Lynch (longtime student leader) and Andrew Hile (who will be a first year ISU student in the fall) who will be taking on the role of Sycamore Sam. Hopefully they will be able to keep hydrated and not get over heated! Another special shout out to Al Perone as he serves as the Parade Announcer again this year.
*We are fortunate that Jessica gets to spend 2 hours with us in the afternoon. We will be having all of the family and friends get together at a favorite restaurant in Zionsville - Amore's... best pizza in the Indy area!!! It will be a time to relax and celebrate a great week.
*Final competition begins at 6 pm. It will be streamed live on the web (cost is $10). More information is on the Miss Indiana website www.missindianapageant.com
*Please continue to send good thoughts to Jessica - she has represented our university very well with her kind heart - talents - and professionalism this week. We are hopeful she moves on to the final round tomorrow night.
*Don't' forget to check out all of the photos on the websites and our Miss ISU Facebook and website.
Thanks again for your support!
